Reddit Inc. announced Thursday that it will launch a Discover tab, an online message board. It will display photos and videos taken from the site in order to improve its mobile app’s visual appeal.

Reddit has confidentially submitted a December initial public offering application for the new feature. Reuters previously reported that the company aims for a minimum valuation of $15 billion.

Reddit boasts 52 million users per day and is an online community that allows people to meet in groups, called subreddits. This lets them discuss topics such as finance and gardening.

You can scroll through images and videos of subreddits similar to the ones you are already part of using the Discover tab. Reddit stated that this is the first tab the company launched in the app for nearly two years.

Reddit stated in a blog that one fifth of users joined at minimum one subreddit during testing after they used the Discover tab.

The viral appeal of TikTok, a short-form video application that has been popularized by social media giants, has led to a shift in video usage among these companies. Meta Platforms Inc, Facebook’s owner (NASDAQ:), released Tuesday its TikTok-like Reels feature to more than 150 countries.
