(Reuters) – After Discovery (NASDAQ) Inc acquires CNN, Chris Licht (executive producer) will be leading the company, following Jeff Zucker’s departure, a source said Saturday.

According to the source, an announcement could be made as soon as next week.

Chris Licht currently serves as an executive producer on “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert”, Paramount Global’s CBS channel.

The development was first reported by Puck, an industry newsletter.

Licht will be the head of News at Warner Bros. for CNN. According to the newsletter, Licht’s authority will not be extended to sports like Zucker.

Zucker announced earlier in the month that he was resigning, claiming that he had not disclosed a consensual relationship to a colleague.
