Roku is removing RT from the Roku Channel Store in Europe

(Reuters). – Streaming media company Roku (NASDAQ) has removed the Roku Channel Store app in Europe for Russia Today, an official said.

Roku joins the ranks of other technology companies, which have taken measures to limit access to Russian state media outlets.

Meta Platforms Inc., parent company to Facebook (NASDAQ:), had announced Monday that it will restrict access for RT and Sputnik news agencies in the European Union.

Alphabet (NASDAQ) Inc also prohibited RT and state media from posting ads on its platforms. YouTube, a YouTube subsidiary of Google, announced Saturday that it has suspended several Russian state media channels from advertising.
