(Reuters) – Serena Williams is a tennis legend who has just raised $111million for Serena Ventures. This was according to a Tuesday blog post from the fund.

The company invested among other things in Fintechs Propel and Cointracker, as well as edtech Masterclass. The blog reports that the company manages more than 60 angel investments. 13 of them are unicorns.

Alison Rapaport is the co-founder of Serena Ventures alongside Williams.

Following a larger sell-off in tech stocks recently, the company is moving to raise its first fund. Private valuations will be under pressure.

SoftBank and Tiger Global are among the biggest investors in the world. However, Andreessen Horowitz and SoftBank continue to bet on the valuations rebounding later this year due to strong investor demand for crypto and the metaverse.

Insight Partners, which is its 12th flagship fund and its biggest, raised $20 billion last month. This was to increase its investments in software and technology companies.

Andreessen Horowitz, a venture capitalist, also raised $9 million through three new funds in January. The funding surge was prompted by large global investors backing high-growth technology startups.
