Dmitry Rogozin, Director General of Roscosmos participates in a ceremony to report on the International Space Station crew (ISS).MOSCOW (Reuters), – Russia is prepared to treat hacking its satellites as a reason for war. This was according to a report that the head of Russia’s space agency said in a Wednesday news story.
Roscosmos’ head Dmitry Rogozin said media reports claimed that Russian satellite control centre were hacked during Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine. He also warned against attempts to make such a statement, Interfax news agency reported.
Interfax quotes him saying that “Offlining satellites in any country is really a casus belli,” which is a cause of war.
Interfax reported Rogozin said that his agency needed OneWeb, a British-based technology firm to give guarantees its satellites will not be used against Russia.
Rogozin stated that Russia would not launch 36 OneWeb satellites from its Baikonur cosmodrome on March 4, which Russia leases from Kazakhstan. OneWeb will be compensated, according to the Russian news agency.
