DETROIT – Ford MotorOn Wednesday, the company announced that it would reorganize its operations in order to seperate its internal-combustion and electric engine business into distinct units within the automaker.

It hopes the company’s move will help streamline its electric vehicle business, and increase profits. This strategy is similar to Ford’s Ford Pro commercial vehicles business, which it operates under the CEO Jim Farley. “Ford+” turnaround plan.

Farley stated that “We are going all-in” in Wednesday’s statement, announcing the restructuring.

The best way to placate Wall Street analysts, who are pressuring Ford and other legacy automakers to sell their electric vehicles to investors to return the value they have given to some of these EV start ups is to separate them but keep them within company.

Ford stock rose more than 4 percent in pre-market trading. Ford stock ended Tuesday down 4.9% at $16.70 per share

Ford Model e, the EV operation will be called. Ford Blue is for traditional operations. Ford stated that they would “operate independently but will share technology and best practices in order to maximize scale and drive operational improvements.”

Investors will have greater visibility into operations by the company’s plan to release financial results from the new units and Ford+ businesses by 2023.

Farley explained that they are not afraid to go all out and create separate, but complementary, businesses which give them start-up speeds and unprecedented innovation in Ford Model E along with Ford Blue’s industry know-how and volume, and brands like Bronco that only start-ups could ever dream of.

Bloomberg News reported that Farley had been evaluating the possibility of seperating its traditional and EV business. This move comes after Bloomberg News’s first report. Farley stated last week that Ford has no plans to sell the company. spin off either of the operations.
