LVIV Ukraine (Reuters). -Russian forces launched a rocket attack against a large Ukrainian military installation near the Polish frontier on Sunday. Officials claimed that it appeared to have been the most western attack in war. On Monday, air raid sirens woke up residents of Kyiv.
According to a statement by the Lviv regional military authority, “The occupiers carried out an aerial strike against the International Center for Peacekeeping and Security” (Yavoriv). They fired eight missiles, according to preliminary data.

This facility covers 360 km (140 miles), and is located less than 25 kilometers (15 miles) away from the Polish border. It’s the biggest in Ukraine, as well as the one that is the most extensive in the west. The majority of Ukraine’s NATO-member drills take place there.
Ivano-Frankivsk was the mayor in another Ukrainian city. According to him, Russian troops continue to attack its airport. Initial reports have not reported any casualties.
Volodymyr Zelenskiy, the Ukrainian president has warned Russian forces that they will face death if the try to take over Kyiv. Residents were woken by air raid sirens on Sunday morning.
“If they want to simply carpet bomb this area and wipe out the history of it… then they will invade Kyiv. Zelenskiy on Saturday stated that they would allow them to enter if this is their ultimate goal. However, they will need to live there themselves.

On Saturday, Ukraine said that Russian forces had killed seven civilians in an attack targeting women and children who fled fighting for their lives near Kyiv. France claimed that Russian President Vladimir Putin had not shown any willingness to negotiate peace.
Ukrainian intelligence said that the children and seven others were murdered as they tried to flee Peremoha. “The occupiers made it impossible for the remaining columnists to return.”
Reuters could not immediately verify the report, and Russia did not respond.
Moscow claims it has not targeted civilians since its invasion of Ukraine onFeb. 24. It accuses Ukraine of failing to evacuate civilians from encircled towns, an accusation which Ukraine and its western allies strongly deny.
After 31 Russian battalion tactical units were taken out of action by Ukraine, Zelenskiy claimed that Moscow had sent in additional troops. This was he described as the largest military losses Russia has suffered in decades. Reuters was unable to verify the statements.
“We need to keep going. “We still have to fight,”Zelenskiy declared in late Saturday’s video address. This was his second of the day. He stated that about 1300 Ukrainian soldiers had been killed and urged the West for more involvement in peace negotiations.

Zelenskiy and OlafScholz discussed the war, as did Macron. Macron urged Putin to order an immediate ceasefire.
The ceasefire was not mentioned in a Kremlin statement made during their meeting of 75 minutes. French officials of the presidency stated that they did not detect a desire on Putin’s behalf to end the conflict.
Sergei Ryabkov, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister, accused the United States of increasing tensions. He said that the situation was complicated by Western arm shipments to Ukrainethat Russian forces consider “legitimate targets”.
