LONDON, (Reuters) – On Tuesday, U.S. officials denied that Russia sought military aid in Ukraine. They also accused Washington of spreading “malicious information” which could lead to an increase in conflict.

According to Reuters, the Chinese embassy in London said that “the U.S. has spread malicious disinformation repeatedly against China regarding the Ukraine issue.”

It stated that China has played a positive role in the promotion of peace talks.

“Now is the time to address the problem, not to add to it. Instead, we need to work toward a diplomatic solution, rather than escalating the crisis.”

Numerous U.S. officials claimed that Russia asked China to supply military equipment following its February 24th invasion of Ukraine. This raised concerns in the White House about whether Beijing could undermine Western efforts for Ukraine’s defense.

This request was denied by the Kremlin
