LONDON (Reuters) – Capitalism has not served the U.S. economy as well as it could have, U.S. House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi said on Friday, saying that the system needed to be improved.

At a Chatham House gathering, she said, “In America capitalism is our system. It is our economic system. But it has not served the economy as well it should.” We want to not change that system, but improve it.

You cannot have a system in which the success of certain workers is dependent on the exploitation and others depend upon the exploitation and all of that has to be corrected.
