  • The imposters have already raised more than $17,700 as of the writing.

The oldest Bitcoin education site — Bitcoin.org, seems to be hacked. In detail, a pop-up message on the website now says ‘The Bitcoin Foundation is giving back to the community’.

Last month, there were 1.7million users on the website. The site was apparently asking BTC holders for BTC. They promised that they would double the amount of BTC paid in return.

The hackers received $17,700 in transactions small within hours of posting their giveaway message. According to Bitcoin Explorer blockchain.com, this is the amount.
