(Reuters) – A U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention advisory panel on Thursday recommended a booster shot of the Pfizer (NYSE:) and BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine for Americans aged 65 and older and some adults with underlying medical conditions.

After approval by U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the vote of the group allows for the booster rollout to start as early as this week for millions who received their second dose less than six months ago.
