TAIPEI (Reuters – Taiwan reports the Chinese air force’s largest-ever incursion into its air defense area. On Friday, Beijing celebrated the foundation of the People’s Republic of China.

Chinese-claimed Taiwan complains for more than a decade about China’s repeated air strikes near democratically-governed Taiwan, frequently in the southern part of China’s air defence zone. This is close to Taiwan’s Pratas Islands.

Taiwan Defence Ministry reported that Taiwanese fighters were fighting against four Su-30 fighter aircraft, 18 J-16 fighters and two H-6 bombers.

Later, in the morning of Saturday, the ministry reported that another 13 Chinese aircraft participated in a Friday night mission – 10 J-16s and 2 H-6s as well an early warning aircraft.

The Taiwanese sent fighter aircraft to warn off the Chinese, and missile systems were used to watch them.

According to a ministry map, the first Chinese planes flew together in an area near the Pratas Islands. The two bombers were closest to the atoll.

Second group flew into Bashi Channel which divides Taiwan and Philippines. It is an important waterway linking the Pacific to the disputated South China Sea.

China has not yet commented on the activities. China has stated that such flight were necessary to safeguard the sovereignty of the country and are intended to “collusion” between Taiwan and America, which is the most important foreign backer on the island.

It involved 28 Chinese military aircraft.

China’s new mission was launched less than 24 hours after Taiwan’s government attacked Taiwan’s foreign ministry. This invoked the words Mao Zedong, who decried him as “shrilling fly” for his efforts in promoting Taiwan international.

China is exerting greater military and political pressure on Taiwan in an effort to force it to recognize its sovereignty.

Taiwan declares it is an independent nation and vows to defend democracy and freedom.
