UK’s Sunak says he does not want more tax increases By Reuters

LONDON, (Reuters) – Rishi Sunak, the British finance minister, said Monday that he and Boris Johnson do not intend to increase taxes after a recent rise in social security payments to fund social services.

The prime minister made the hard decision and deserves immense credit. However, this is not an easy task and it’s something that the government wants to tackle. …..” Sunak stated that it was not possible to avoid having to make similar decisions in the future.

On Monday, he will deliver a speech at the Conservative Party’s annual conference.
