FRANKFURT (Reuters). ECB President Christine Lagarde stated that it is hard to predict the extent of disruptions resulting in the economy’s postpandemic reopening.

Lagarde spoke out in support of Lagarde’s statement that we shouldn’t react to rising energy prices or supply shortages. Our monetary policy can not directly influence these phenomena.

She said, “But we’ll pay attention to wage development and inflation expectations so that inflation expectations remain at 2%.”

Lagarde stated that these “frictions”, which she believes are temporary, will continue to repeat the bank’s long-standing statement that inflation will decline next year.
