WASHINGTON, (Reuters) – A Glens Falls man, New Yorker, pleaded guilty to being in and staying inside a restricted structure on Thursday.

At a hearing held in Washington, Alexis Loeb, U.S. Federal Prosecutor, stated to Judge Emmett Sullivan that James Bonet entered the Capitol and declared, “We’re taking back it.” It’s our turn.

Following his entry into the Oregon Democratic U.S.A. office, he then took a cigarette of marijuana. Loeb stated that Senator Jeff Merkley smoked a marijuana cigarette.

Bonet faces a six-month sentence and up to a $500 or $9,500 fine. But, the judge stated that probation may be an appropriate deterrent.

An additional case that stemmed from Jan. 6, which saw thousands of Trump supporters storming the Capitol, allowed the access of a U.S. Marine Corps officer who was accused of being part of the riot. His lawyer had requested the video.

According to a law enforcement official, Christopher Warnagiris (40) is the most senior U.S. active-duty military officer charged with the riot.

Judge Paul Friedman directed Warnagiris to make the video “highly sensitive”.

Warnagiris is an American Marine major, Woodbridge, Virginia. Prosecutors say Warnagiris entered Capitol through a gap in security and positioned himself at a doorway to allow others into his home.

Warnagiris pleaded not guilty to all charges. January 7th was the date of a second hearing.

According to an official, around 40 U.S. veterans were charged with their involvement in today’s events. Four military reservists also were charged.

According to the Justice Department, Michael Dickinson (a Philadelphian resident) was taken into custody on Wednesday on multiple charges related to riots. According to court documents, Dickinson was seen throwing a bucket of liquid at officers trying to remove rioters from Capitol Grounds.
