WASHINGTON (Reuters] – On Thursday, the U.S. House of Representatives Select Committee was requesting more testimony from witnesses and records about a rally that occurred the day former President Donald Trump supporters stormed Capitol.
These subpoenas were the latest of a number of investigations by the panel probing the rebellion. They left some people behind and Mike Pence, then Vice President of the United States, and legislators fleeing for their lives.
They request deposition testimony of Ali Abdul Akbar also known as Ali Alexander and Nathan Martin. The group is also requesting records from Stop the Steal LLC which was affiliated to the rally.
Alexander is an activist of far right who organized the Stop the Steal Movement opposing Trump’s defeat in the 2020 Presidential Election. Martin is an Ohio city councilman.
