Dollar Up, but Below One-Year High, AUD gains as Riak Sentiment Improves By Investing.com

Investing.com – The dollar was up on Friday morning in Asia. As risk sentiment improved, however, the safe-haven dollars remained well below their one-year high. It traded close to the riskier Australian currency’s three-week peak, which it reached during the previous session when it increased 0.55% against the U.S counterpart.

This pair rose 0.25 percent to 111.99. Japanese data earlier today showed household spending fell by 3.9% and 3% respectively, which was higher than expected. JPY1.04 Trillion ($9.33 Billion) compared to JPY1.666 Trillion.

Both the pair rose 0.06%, to 0.7316. The pair rose 0.34%, to 0.6945.

This pair increased 0.08% to 6.4502. China’s for September, , was 53.4.

It fell by 0.01%, to 1.3615

A temporary lifting of the debt ceiling was approved by the U.S. Senate on Thursday. It prevents a catastrophe debt default. Stagflation worries were somewhat eased by the rising global energy prices.

Rodrigo Catril (OTC:), National Australia Bank FX strategist, stated that “the improvement in risk appetite favors the pro-growth currency with safe-haven pair underperformers.”

“A decent try at breaking higher” has been made by the Australian dollar, but its test will be whether the currency can hold steady at $0.7315 after several unsuccessful attempts in 2021.

Investors will also be waiting on the U.S. latest jobs report which is expected to come out later in the afternoon. This data could have an impact on the U.S. Federal Reserve’s asset tapering schedule, which is said to be likely to commence in November 2021. It could increase interest rates by the central bank in 2022.

Huw Pill, the newly-minted Chief Economist at Bank of England, stated that inflation pressures are more stubborn than originally thought. He reiterated the expectation of an interest rate increase by February 2022 and possibly even 2021.
