Singapore, South Korea announce bilateral vaccinated travel lane

SINGAPORE — Quarantine-free travel between Singapore and South Korea will start from Nov. 15 for vaccinated travelers, the city-state’s transport ministry announced Friday.

Both countries have agreed to create a “vaccinated travel lanes” that allows South Korean vaccinated travellers to cross into Singapore without being quarantined. Travelers will be required to pass Covid-19 to confirm they have not been infected.

According to the press release, it is “the first of its kind” between the two largest aviation hubs in Asia.

S Iswaran (Transport Minister) stated that general travel between Singapore, South Korea has been resumed after 20 months of interruption.

Iswaran stated, “This is another landmark as we reopen Singapore’s borders and resume air travel with care and precision.”

The agreement will require that travelers fly between Singapore’s Changi Airport (Singapore) and South Korea’s Incheon International Airport (South Korea). The transport ministry stated that more details would be revealed soon.
