Investing.com – U.S. stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

The index dropped 0.19% while it lost 0.03%.

These were the best performers of the session Chevron Corp (NYSE:) traded at 108.05 after the close by rising 2.24%, or 2.37 points. International Business Machines (NYSE 🙂 gained 0.99%, or 1.41 points, to close at 143.22. UnitedHealth Group Incorporated was also up 0.93%, or 3.76 to 408.46 late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Merck & Company Inc (NYSE:), which fell 1.60% or 1.31 points to trade at 80.63 at the close. Verizon Communications Inc (NYSE:), fell 0.66 point to 53.24, while Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc(NASDAQ:) dropped 0.98% (0.47 points) down to 47.38.

The top performers on the S&P 500 were APA Corporation (NASDAQ:) which rose 6.84% to 24.36, Hess Corporation (NYSE:) which was up 6.63% to settle at 89.15 and EOG Resources Inc (NYSE:) which gained 5.53% to close at 90.53.

Citrix System Inc (NASDAQ) was the worst performer, falling 5.65% to 95.32 in late trading. Hanesbrands Inc (NYSE:), which fell 4.98% to settle for 16.23 Charter Communications Inc (NASDAQ) was at its lowest point of 4.83%, closing at 706.13

These were the top performers in the NASDAQ Composite ChemoCentryx Inc (NASDAQ) Which rose 95.97% up to 38.41 DatChat Inc (NASDAQ) was up 45.52% and settled at 11.70 Voyager Therapeutics Inc (NASDAQ:), which gained 44.53% and closed at 5.550.

These were the worst performers Allogene Therapeutics Inc (NASDAQ:), which fell 46.10% to 13.14 during late trade Agile Thrpe (NASDAQ:) which lost 28.41% to settle at 0.6746 and Nkarta Inc (NASDAQ:) which was down 27.85% to 18.03 at the close.

The New York Stock Exchange saw falling stocks surpass advancing by 1763 compared to 1405; 137 closed unchanged. On the Nasdaq Stock Exchange 2123 fell, 1388 advanced and 184 finished unchanged.

The shares of APA Corporation (NASDAQ) reached 52-week highs. They rose 6.84%, or 1.56 to 24,36. Citrix System Inc (NASDAQ:), shares fell to 52 week lows, losing 5.65% (5.89 to 98.32). EOG Resources Inc (NYSE 🙂 shares rose to 52 week highs, gaining 5.53% (4.74 to 90.53). Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE:), shares dropped to 52 week lows, falling by 1.22% (0.66 to 53.24). Allogene Therapeutics Inc. shares (NASDAQ) plunged to new lows, down 46.10%. This is an increase of 41.2% or 11.24 to 13.14. Shares of Agile Thrpe Inc (NASDAQ:), fell 28.41%, or 0.2677, to 0.6746. Shares in Nkarta Inc (NASDAQ:) fell to all time lows; falling 27.85% or 6.96 to 18.03.

The , which measures the implied volatility of S&P 500 options, was down 3.94% to 18.77.

The December delivery of Gold Futures was lower by 0.15%, or 2.60, to $1756.60 per troy ounce. In commodities trading, crude oil rose 1.53 percent or 1.20 in November to $79.50 per barrel. Meanwhile, the December Brent oil contract rose 0.56 or 0.54 to $82.49 per barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.9% at 1.1573, USD/JPY rose 0.5% to 112.25.

At 94.112, the US Dollar Index Futures fell 0.12%
