VIENNA (Reuters – Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz stated on Saturday that he would be stepping down following an investigation into corruption suspicions.
Kurz stated in a statement that he proposed Alexander Schallenberg (a career diplomat) as his successor. Kurz intends to be the leader of his party but will take over as its leader within parliament.
