FTX CEO Will Give Up His Fortune
  • Sam Bankman Fried is the youngest billionaire thanks to cryptocurrency and wants to share his wealth.
  • Forbes reports that Forbes’s youngest man is under 29 and has assets of more than $22 billion.

Sam Bankman Fried is a young American millionaire that has amassed a fortune of more than $22.5 Billion by taking advantage the crypto boom. He has pledged to give all his earnings.

Sam Bankman Fried is the CEO and cofounder of cryptocurrency exchange company FTX. He has yet to say how, when or where he plans on donating the funds.

The young investor, who is already ranked 32nd on this year’s Forbes 400 list, does not confess himself to be a faithful believer in cryptocurrencies, but rather as someone who has taken advantage of the opportunity to earn an immense fortune from buying and selling crypto.

“I got involved in cryptocurrencies without having a clue”

Forbes rather lists him as a “mercenary,” dedicated to crypto finance for now. He wants to continue expanding his “saddlebags” and then donate the profits. His place is mine. I’d also sell oranges to continue growing.

“I was unaware of cryptocurrencies and got into cryptocurrencies,”
He admitted it.

“It looked like there were lots of good trades.”
After becoming frustrated at the low quality exchanges that were available, he created his own.

Unlike other billionaires, like Steve Jobs, whose obsession was to simplify and make his products more elegant, or Elon Musk who does business “to save humanity,” Bankman-Fried says he wants to “win to give” and “have an impact.”

Two Stanford law professors are his parents. He graduated in 2014 from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, with a degree physics. After his graduation, Bankman Fried worked as an ETF trader for Jane Street Capital. This was where he found his love for charity and donated a portion his six-figure income.

There was a lot of things to do in the market

When the cryptocurrency market experienced its first bull rally, rising from $2,500 to nearly $20,000 within six months, Bankman-Fried saw the potential and decided to seize the moment. Bankman-Fried realized there was much to be done in the rapidly growing crypto market. He could purchase bitcoin in the U.S., then sell it in Japan to make a 30% profit.

He had to relocate to Hong Kong and The Bahamas in order to get less attention by the U.S government. His business is FTX. It’s a crypto buying and selling platform. In July, it raised US $900 Million from Coinbase Ventures (NASDAQ:) Ventures, and SoftBank.

In order to achieve his vision of constant growth, the vegan young man, a lover of Harry Potter and videogames, will need to avoid a lot of international merchants and adjust his business in accordance with the government’s regulations.

Flipside

  • The young millionaire, who is only 0.1% richer than his wealth, has so far given away $25 million. This makes him one of the most charitable Forbes 400 millionaires.
  • He has also promised to increase his charity’s value by at least 900, should his financial situation improve. He explains that donations “are not a short-term goal. It’s a long-term one. “

What are the reasons to care?

  • Sam Bankman Fried has made his fortune by analysing cryptocurrency and the whole industry.
  • As the youngest billionaire, Bankman-Fried will be competing against Mark Zuckerberg (NASDAQ:), the founder of Facebook.
