NRx Pharmaceuticals Stock Surges After Progress on Covid-19 Treatment By Investing.com

Investing.com —  NRX Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:) shares surged Tuesday after it reported 2 new updates related to its treatment for Covid-19 respiratory failure. 

Shares rose by 60.9%, to $10.91 Tuesday. But, the shares are down 55.87% year-to-date. 

Company stated that a re-designed Investigational New Drug module for Zyesami production was presented to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. This included documentation that showed Nephron Pharmaceuticals could supply Zyesami commercially. 

It will be part of FDA’s rolling review process to support the New Drug Application for ZYESAMI.

Professor Jonathan Javitt is NRx’s Chairman and CEO. He stated that the company continues to make “efforts” to ensure that NRx can supply ZYESAMI to patients when it has been granted regulatory approval.

A European Qualified Person Audior also conducted an examination of a different manufacturing facility and found no negative findings. 

NRx has been waiting for a Qualified Person statement from the EU regulator in order to obtain ZYESAMI. Before ZYESAMI was submitted to the EU and United Kingdom, audits were completed.
