(Reuters) – A crucial part of U.S. President Joe Biden’s climate agenda – a plan to quickly replace U.S. coal and gas-fired energy plants with wind and solar energy – is likely to be dropped from the U.S. Congress budget bill pending.

The Senator Joe Manchin from West Virginia, who is the crucial vote in the passing of this bill, told the White House, citing reliable sources, that he opposed the Clean Electricity Program.
