Seoul is hosting a major arms show, where spy chiefs are meeting to talk about the nuclear issue, while South Korea plans to launch a satellite rocket.
North Korea’s latest weapon test would take place Tuesday. This is the North Korean response to international sanctions that have been imposed on its missile programs and nuclear weapons.
JCS reported that the missile was fired from Sinpo. This is where North Korea has its submarines, as well as test equipment, for firing sub-marine-launched bombistic missiles (SLBMs). Other types of missiles have also been launched by North Korea from the same area.
Yonhap reported that the launch took place as South Korea’s intelligence chiefs and Japan were set to meet in Seoul to talk about the North Korea standoff.
Seoul was host to representatives of many international corporations and militaries for the opening ceremony of the International Aerospace and Defence Exhibition.
The South Korean defense expo will feature the largest ever display of fighter jets, drones, attack helicopters, advanced weapons and civil aerospace design.
South Korea plans to launch its first domestic space rocket on Thursday.
