© Ink Drop ProShares Bitcoin ETF set to be listed on NYSE from Oct. 19The United States will finally welcome its first futures-linked ETF as ProShares’ Bitcoin Strategy ETF is set to debut on the New York Stock Exchange on Tuesday.
Michael Sapir (CEO of ProShares) stated that the launch is a major milestone for crypto ETFs in America after numerous attempts to list them on an exchange.
BITO will keep the legacy of ETFs which provide easy and liquid access for investors to an asset type. The first ETF in equity was launched in 1993. 2002 saw the launch of the first bond ETF. 2004 marked the debut of the ETF for gold. 2021 will be remembered for the first cryptocurrency-linked ETF.
Sapir further opined that the Bitcoin ETF’s debut on NYSE could attract massive exposure for investors in traditional financial markets.
The development comes just after the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission accepted the registration request for ProShares’ Bitcoin ETF on Oct 15. The SEC also accepted the registration request for shares of Valkyrie’s Bitcoin Strategy ETF to be listed on NASDAQ the same day.
Due to positive feedback from the U.S. Bitcoin ETFs, Bitcoin has seen a 30% increase in its price during the past week. On Friday, the flagship cryptocurrency Bitcoin crossed $60,000 for the first-time since April.
