Investing.com — Electronic Arts Inc (NASDAQ: Shares rose by 1.6% on Friday, after the FIFA 22 video game reached the top spot in the UK September charts after only one week. Gameindustry.biz reports.

Christopher Dring’s report stated that Launch Sales were 10% higher than FIFA 21,

GSD data revealed that physical boxes sales fell 34% in comparison to last year’s game. However, digital downloads increased 37%. Digital outlets made up 77% of FIFA 22, compared to 62% in FIFA 21’s first week.

Dring stated that FIFA 22 sales in September 2021 totalled 3.36million (2.26million digital, 1.1 million physical).

This report is good news for EA’s games sales for this week. Mat Piscatella, NPD analyst, stated Monday that EA’s Madden NFL 22 was the most-sold game in America for September.

EA shares plunged earlier this month after FIFA, the football’s governing body, said that it will “adopt an updated commercial positioning in gaming” and eSports.
