(Reuters) – A fatal shooting accident that Alec Baldwin committed on set of a Western film has led to no criminal charges being brought against Baldwin, said the local District Attorney on Tuesday.
Mary Carmack, Santa Fe County District Attorney Mary Altwies said in an interview to The New York Times that it was wrong to call the gun used in the incident a “prop guns” as is common in media reports.
“It was a legit gun,” Carmack-Altwies told the paper. “It was an antique-era appropriate gun.”
According to the prosecutor, an “enormous number of bullets” were found on the set. An investigation into their nature was necessary.
