Exclusive-Germany cuts GDP growth forecast to 2.6% for 2021, lifts 2022 estimate to 4.1% -Breaking

BERLIN (Reuters] – While the German government reduced its forecast of economic growth for this year by 2.6%, it raised its projection for next year by 4.1%. Two sources spoke to Reuters under anonymity Tuesday.

Comparing with the April forecast of 3.5% growth in gross domestic product, this revised government projection compares with that for 2021.

The updated forecasts for growth will be presented by Economy Minister Peter Altmaier at Wednesday’s news conference. Un spokesperson from the Economy Ministry was unable to respond.
