COPENHAGEN, (Reuters) – The recent spike in energy prices is not caused by difficulties with the green transition according to Fatih Birol (Director of International Energy Agency (IEA), Thursday.

Some people try to paint the high prices of energy as the first problem in the clean energy revolution. Birol stated this at a Copenhagen conference.

He expressed concern that these views might slow down the progress of important policies at the COP26 Climate Summit in Glasgow.

The current energy market situation has no connection to the clean energy transition. Birol stated that if there’s a link it is because there isn’t enough clean energy. But there are too many.
