American Airlines cancels flights due to staff shortages, bad weather -Breaking

(Reuters] – American Airlines (NASDAQ 🙂 Group Inc stated on Saturday that hundreds of its scheduled flights were cancelled due to weather and staff shortages.
Airlines stated that it had canceled over 500 Saturday flights and 300 Sunday flights, as well as 376 Friday flights.
According to the airline, “With more weather in the system our staffing becomes tighter as crew members are forced out of their usual flight sequences,” a statement said.
It stated that the company expected to be able to move on from this period of inconsistency operations quickly.
Carriers are trying to recruit more workers as we approach the busy holiday season.
American Airlines stated that they are increasing their staffing in all areas of operations. Nearly 1,800 flight attendants will be returning to work after leave. More than 600 flight attendants have been hired.
Southwest said that they were hiring aggressively and hoped to have 5,000 more employees by year’s end.
