WASHINGTON, (Reuters) – Democrat Shontel brown defeated Republican Laverne Gore in a special election in Ohio’s 11th Congressional District. This was to replace the seat Marcia Fudge, a Democrat who resigned in March in order to become part of the Biden government. The projections were made by MSNBC and Washington Post on Tuesday.

This district covers a large portion of Cleveland, and it voted heavily Democratic during the 2020 presidential election. Brown currently serves as a member on the Ohio Cuyahoga County Council.
