LONDON (Reuters – Malala Yousafzai a Nobel Peace Prize winner and campaigner for girls education, announced on Tuesday that she had married. She was 15 when she was gunned down by a Taliban man in Pakistan.
According to the 24-year-old Brit, she had married her husband in Birmingham, and they celebrated their union at home.
Today marks an important day in my personal life. Asser (NYSE:) wrote that she had tied the knot with Asser to become partners in life and included four photographs to her tweet.
Malala didn’t give any additional information except her first name about her husband. Internet users identified him by Asser Mlik, the general manager at Pakistan Cricket Board’s High Performance Centre. This was not confirmed by Reuters.
Malala is highly respected in the West for both her bravery and her ability to speak out for the rights and interests of women and girls. She has divided the public’s opinion in Pakistan for her activism.
Malala said that in July, Malala was not certain if she’d ever get married.
“I don’t get why some people are forced to marry. Why do marriage papers have to be signed if you are looking for a partner? She was quoted in an extensive profile.
This comment was criticized by many Pakistani social media users at the time.
