(Reuters) – The US market for initial public offerings has seen a surge in liquidity since last year. This is due to the accommodative monetary policy that attracted many companies to list shares.

Rivian Automobile was worth more than $100 billion on Wednesday when it debuted its shares on Nasdaq. This is after Rivian, the electric vehicle manufacturer, raised $11.9 billion during the biggest IPO in history.

According to Dealogic data, the U.S. has raised almost $276 billion in IPOs (including special purpose acquisition companies), so far in 2021.

Numerous big names, including Robinhood Markets Inc (NASDAQ):, Coupang Inc., Coinbase (NASDAQ) Global, Roblox Corp. and GlobalFoundries have all gone public in this year.

Brazilian online lender Nubank expects to start selling shares to investors within the next week. The bank is hoping to achieve a valuation exceeding $50 billion.
