WASHINGTON (Reuters] – Next week, the U.S. Federal Trade Commission will decide whether to study whether disruptions in supply chains have affected competition. The agency released a tentative statement describing their agenda.

According to the statement, this meeting will be held Nov. 18.

Long delays were experienced in getting products into U.S. port ports. The White House sought ways to reduce bottlenecks, accelerate deliveries, and decrease shortages. They also worked with Los Angeles ports, Long Beach, and Los Angeles, to help move goods 24 hours a day.

According to the White House, unusually high inflation is likely to drop once supply constraints are removed.

FTC announced that they will vote whether to gather data from major retailers and other suppliers of consumer goods for the purpose of studying how disruptions in supply chain have affected competition.

According to the statement, “The study will examine how these disruptions are occurring, and whether they lead to particular bottlenecks, shortages anticompetitive practices or contribute to rising consumer prices.”

If matters are not likely to be passed, the FTC does not usually bring them up for vote.
