Canadian mining firm Bitfarms plans to open its first American data center after it has purchased a Washington State land parcel.

Bitfarms was announced in a November 11th announcement The company hoped to create mining operations in the U.S. that could produce 620 petahashes per hour using 6,200 Bitmain Rigs powered entirely by hydroelectric power. A 24 megawatt Washington hydro power plant was purchased by the company for $26 million. However, plans are to add 99 MW farms to this area.
