Tech shares on Wall Street see overnight bounce

SINGAPORE — Shares in Asia-Pacific rose in Friday morning trade following overnight gains for tech stocks stateside as the Nasdaq Composite rebounded.

Japan Nikkei 225As shares in conglomerates, they gained 0.89% SoftBank GroupMore than 1% was added. Topix Index rose by 1.15% The Topix index rose 1.15% in South Korea. KospiThe increase was 0.61%

Australian stocks rose during morning trade on Monday as the S&P/ASX 200Gained 0.9%

MSCI’s Asia-Pacific share index outside Japan was 0.2% more.

Overnight stateside, the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite rose 0.52% to 15,704.28 while the S&P 500 advanced slightly to 4,649.27. The Dow Jones Industrial Average sank 158.71 point to 35.921.23.

The U.S. dollar indexThe indices that track the greenback in relation to a basket of peers were at 95.178 after a jump from 94.4 earlier this week.

The Japanese yenThe dollar traded at 114.05 dollars, struggling to rebound from a weakening of below 113.5 earlier in the week. The Australian dollarChanged hands at $0.729; still below levels of $0.738 earlier in the week.
