Former Deutsche Bank CEO and chair Hilmar Kopper dies at 86 -Breaking

FRANKFURT / Reuters Deutsche Bank (DE:) It was announced Friday by the company that Hilmar Kopper, its chief executive officer and chairman, has passed away at the age of just 86.
The bank reported that he died after a severe bout of illness.
Kopper was the country’s leading lender in a time of global rapid expansion.
Following the assassination Alfred Herrhausen’s 1989 assassination, he was appointed CEO. He served as the head of the company until 1997. Between 1997 and 2002, he served as chairman.
Deutsche Bank was founded in 1870. It bought Britain’s Morgan Grenfell during Kopper’s reign. The deal closed in 1990. Bankers Trust of America in 1998.
Chairman Paul Achleitner declared that Deutsche Bank had lost “one of its most defining personalities”.
