WASHINGTON (Reuters] – The U.S. appeals court dissolved greenhouse gas emission regulations for heavy-duty trailer trucks on Friday, declaring that two government agencies were in excess of their authority.

2016 saw the introduction of rules by the Environmental Protection Agency, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that require trailer manufacturers to install fuel-saving technologies such as side skirts and auto tire pressure systems. The rule was challenged by an industry group, and the court put it on hold pending the review.
