REUTERS/Romeo RanocoMANILA, Reuters – A governor of the Philippines Central Bank stated on Sunday that the central bank might continue its accommodative policy stance despite the fact it anticipates that the Philippines will surpass the government’s target for growth this year.
Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Governor Benjamin Diokno stated that full-year growth is possible at 5% to 6%, which exceeds the government’s 4% – 5% goal.
Diokno said that “the BSP might continue to be patient, and continue its accommodating monetary policy position given current domestic, financial and economic developments,” ahead of the policy meeting scheduled for Nov. 18.
