Investing.com – Boeing stock (NYSE:) stock rose 3.7% Monday as comments from a top official at the plane-maker over the weekend indicated that troubles facing its 787 Dreamliner and 737 Max plans soon could be history.

Bloomberg quotes Ihsane Mounir, senior vice president for commercial sales and marketing, as saying that 787 deliveries are nearing a resumption. The plane, known as the Dreamliner, is Boeing’s most advanced wide-body. The company has halted deliveries for the majority of this year to address quality issues and win regulatory approval so that clients can fly it again.

Mounir indicated that Boeing was also in negotiations with Chinese regulators regarding re-certification of the single-aisle 737 Max. According to Dave Calhoun, the Chief Executive Officer of Boeing, Max handovers will be resumed in the first quarter.

China’s Civil Aviation Administration has informed airlines it is satisfied design changes suggested by Boeing could address safety issues, Reuters reported on Sunday. According to the news agency, airlines are required to give feedback by November 26 on any proposed directive regarding airworthiness.

Boeing is making a lot of money with the narrow-body plane. The world’s second largest economy has kept them grounded about a year after U.S. regulators approved flight-computer fixes proposed by the company following two fatal crashes.
