WASHINGTON (Reuters] – China Telecom (NYSE 🙂 asked a U.S. court to overturn the Federal Communications Commission decision that the telecommunication company was not authorized to be operating in the United States.

China Telecom Americas was directed by the FCC by its regulator to stop U.S.-based services in January. This decision came after national security concerns were raised by the U.S.

On Monday, the Chinese telecom company informed the U.S. Appeals Court of District of Columbia that it had to notify its customers of the District of Columbia’s decision by Dec. 4.

China Telecom, China’s largest telecommunications firm, was granted authorization for the United States to supply telecommunications service over the past 20 years.
