Appeals court rejects New York Times bid to resume Project Veritas coverage -Breaking

NEW YORK (Reuters] – The New York Times rejected a request by an appeals court judge to temporarily lift an order that prevented it from publishing and seeking documents regarding Project Veritas’ conservative activist group.

Justice Leonard Austin from Brooklyn’s State Appellate Division ruled Friday that the Times could not use any materials before a Nov. 23 hearing to determine if the prohibition should be extended.

The Times appealed a Thursday order by another judge, which it called unconstitutional prior restriction. This view was shared by many First Amendment supporters.

In an email, Danielle Rhoades Ha, Times spokesperson said that “Today’s decision to grant the injunction was deeply disappointing.” “We are looking forward to explaining how we feel in court.”

Project Veritas has not responded to my request for comment.
