Our Top 10 Metaverse coins by market cap as we head into December

In November, the Metaverse was a huge trend. Mark Zuckerberg made headlines in November with an announcement that he had made just before Halloween. This seemingly insignificant event has a long-term effect that is rocket fuel for the metaverse and gaming currencies, both of which are already moving beyond the moon.

Let’s review the top 10 coins related to metaverses and blockchain games!

#10 Star Atlas (NYSE:)
Star Atlas is an open-world strategy and game on blockchain. They promised to build a large world using Unreal Engine, with exploration, battles and resources mining. Station modular construction is also possible.

Unfortunately, the trailer doesn’t show us the gameplay so far. Let’s wait for more information from the developers before we draw conclusions.

#9 My Neighbor, Alice
The My Neighbor Alice project has grown by leaps. ALICE was close to being among the 100 most popular cryptos this summer after its successful token sale. In September, developers launched a closed beta version to holders. Release date for the game is set for spring 2022. Moreover, it’s still listed in Steam despite its dislike for crypto games.

My Neighbor Alice has a lot in common with Animal Crossing, Nintendo’s game. This might appear to be a farming simulator at first. But it’s a simulation video game. While growing crops and other farming techniques are an addition to the actual game, the social simulator is the main focus. But it’s not in the life simulation genre like Sims.

Developers introduced the whole town and offer multiple interactions with gaming characters.

#8 Yield Guild Games
Yield Guild Games was one of the first to embrace blockchain gaming. All of this began during the Philippines pandemic. At that time, locals found out that they could earn more in a Pokémon-like game than the average salary around the country.

Gabby, Beryl, Li and the third unknown co-founder were pushed to establish Yield Guild Games. They offer gaming characters on rent at a modest fee. People began renting NFTs to get their characters and begin earning their own money, as it was too costly to launch.

The company didn’t stop with Axies. The company’s portfolio now includes many blockchain games, including Star Atlas (The Sandbox), Illuvium and F1 Delta Time), Star Atlas, Zed Runs, Splinterlandss, Ember Sword, Thetan Arena and Zed Runs.

#7 Illuvium
Illuvium has the potential to grow into a full-fledged, open-world adventure game RPG. With a successful token sale, and an exponential growth rate, it hit the markets this year. At the time of writing the article, the token’s price passed the threshold of $1.7K, from the starting price in April, which was $50.

However, this game set the precedent for IGOs having IGOs long before they had the game. For instance, Illuvium’s trailer was released only recently (6-7 months following token release).

So far, the game promises to be one of the best Pokémon-like games on the blockchain. It looks amazing in 3D and there should be lots of exploration on a futuristic world. The developers also promised to eliminate gas fees, even though it is built using blockchain technology.

#6 UFO Gaming
UFO Gaming has the potential to be an outer-space multiverse. Super Galactic is a blockchain-based twin-stick shooter. Old-school Asteroid is the best example of this type, however it’s underwent a major transformation within indie gaming. Twin-stick shooters are now popular games like Hotline Miami and The Binding of Isaac. This genre is not found in blockchain games. The UFO Gaming team discovered a niche.

The token came sixth due to a self-reported $1.5K market cap. However, CoinMarketCap hasn’t checked this information yet. That’s why you can find the coin in the top 200 at CoinGecko but not in CMC.

#5 Enjin Coin
Enjin was the first to use crypto metaverses. They claim that they started the project during Satoshi’s Nakamoto’s publication. For a while, the idea of creating a gaming metaverse was a constant dream.

Enjin can be used to integrate your game into a network. You can use your gaming NFTs in any other game in the Enjin ecosystem. You can imagine being able to harvest one resource from one game and use it immediately for another, because both games are linked to one Enjin wallet. This wallet stores the NFTs and other fungible tokens.

#4 Gala Games
Gala Games was high on the media rotation before the metaverse boom and it has remained there. Gala Games has a large selection of blockchain projects, with a focus on gaming. Developers aim to build a nearly invisible cryptocurrency economy for each game. It will allow gamers to enjoy the familiarity of classic games.

The ecosystem currently includes two projects. You can find a complete review of the Gala Games projects here.

#3 The Sandbox
Since long, crypto enthusiasts have known the three top-ranking members of this podium. The Sandbox and Decentraland are examples of the “true” metaverse that all enthusiasts believed crypto would reach one day.

Sandbox allows you to have land, and also all of the items in the game like NFTs. Just as it sounds, it’s indeed a sandbox. This game is very similar to Minecraft. The developers offer the ability to transfer your creations from The Sandbox into Minecraft. The gameplay is up to you. The world is yours to decide.

The Sandbox also includes an integrated game maker that allows you to make mini-games in the metaverse. If people play the Sandbox, they can get SAND tokens or LAND tokens.

Snoop Dogg has partnered already with the Sandbox, Deadmau5, Avenged Sevenfold and Avenged Sevenfold.

Launch of the Alpha Version is set for Nov 29th at 10 AM UTC.

#2 Axie Infinity
Is there anyone that doesn’t know about Axie Infinity? The virtual pets are on blockchain and all social media were talking about them. Indeed, the game’s influence on the crypto world is inestimable. Sky Mavis and Yield Guild Games were the developers of crypto games. This team proved that NFTs don’t have to be expensive JPEGs, or bits of code.

In the first quarter of 2021, the game was literally the catalyst for the revolution in play-to earn. By gameplay, it’s a virtual pet RPG like Pokémon. The developers added many new mechanics, including breeding and land ownership. They also promise to add farming in the future.

The game has a very advanced economy for crypto games. It uses three kinds of tokens, and the first crypto exchange in-game allows you to convert your currency from in-game into stablecoins without ever leaving the game.

#1 Decentraland
The winner of today’s top ten metaverse coins is Decentraland. Decentraland is the creator of this 3D cryptocurrency metaverse. This game hosts online events and NFT galleries. It also has other games. Zed Run, Battle Racers and other games are available on PC and Mobile as well as within the Decentraland metaverse.

Live communication is one of the most essential features. It’s literally an entire metaverse inside your computer. You can even find an event calendar if this is what you want to do. Only limit is your imagination.

But here’s the question: should virtual worlds be created if it is possible to communicate, participate in events, and even play video games? Videogames, on the other hand allow us to do things that we can’t do in real-life. Metaverses represent only one link in the evolutionary gaming chain.

Therefore, we have yet to see what’s going to happen in the future. Decentraland has been a very developed metaverse.
