PARIS (Reuters), – Francois Villeroy, ECB policymaker in France and head of French central bank Francois de Galhau stated Monday that the latest COVID-19 wave and the emergence Omicron strain are not likely to impact the economy’s outlook.

Villeroy stated that it was important to keep an eye on the most recent COVID developments and new Omicron strains during an online conference.

“But, the economic impacts of each successive wave have been less and less harmful so the current one should not presumably alter the economic outlook too significantly.”
