Pentagon chief orders review of 2019 Syria strike -Breaking

WASHINGTON (Reuters] – U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin asked a general of four stars to evaluate a 2018 strike in Syria which caused civilian casualties. The Pentagon confirmed this Monday.

John Kirby, a Pentagon spokesperson (NYSE:), told reporters that General Michael Garrett would need to review the deaths of civilians, compliance with the law of war, and records keeping within 90 days.

The New York Times reported earlier this month that 64 children and women were killed in the U.S. attack on Baghuz (Syria) during the fight against Islamic State.
