Virgin Australia switches U.S. partner to United from Delta -Breaking

REUTERS/Loren ElliottSYDNEY, (Reuters) – Virgin Australia announced Tuesday that it will enter a new codeshare partnership and loyalty partnership (with United Airlines) starting April 2022. This partnership replaces a long-standing partnership (NYSE:) with Delta Air Lines on U.S. flights.
Virgin Australia last year cancelled flights from Australia to Los Angeles, but maintained a partnership with Delta to compete against a rival partnership between Qantas Airways & American Airlines (NASDAQ).
United is a bigger market player than Delta for routes between Australia, the United States and Australia.
