Adidas Enters the Metaverse: This is What You’ll Find in Their First NFT Drop

Adidas Originals have entered the metaverse. They are partnering with NFT innovators Gmoney, PUNKS comic, and Bored Ape yacht Club to launch their first NFT drop in 2021.

This exclusive drop will include 30,000 NFTs that can be mint at a cost of 0.2% (or about $800 USD at time of writing).

The ‘Into The Metaverse’ NFT collection will also grant holders access to its partners’ physical merchandise in 2022 (including an adicolor Firebird tracksuit, graphic hoodie, and Gmoney’s orange beanie).

“The opportunity with the metaverse is it creates infinite possibilities for us to connect, create and belong, and it’s especially that belonging part that we focused on initially,”
said Tareq Nazlawy, Adidas’ Senior Digital Director.

Gordon Goner and Gargamel are co-founders the Bored Apes Yacht Club. They also love Adidas (OTC).

“Adidas has a storied history of marking iconic moments and cultural shifts. adidas’ embrace of the open metaverse signals a shift in how it grants stake to communities involved in sport and culture. We hope this marks a shift in brands inviting creators to pioneer with us.”
On November 22nd, 2021, Adidas began contemplating a partnership with The Sandbox to “design the future together” and create cool outfits for the metaverse’s avatars. The partnership quickly became a reality. Digital Adidas wearables are now available on Blockchain-gaming Platform.
