Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest drop CES plans over COVID-19 concerns -Breaking

(Reuters) –Facebook parent Meta Platforms Inc Twitter Inc (NYSE 🙂 and Pinterest (NYSE 🙂 Inc each said Tuesday separately that they won’t send any teams to Las Vegas for the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) next month, as there are growing concerns over the omicron version of the coronavirus.

“Out of an abundance of caution and care for our employees, we won’t be attending CES in-person due to the evolving public health concerns related to COVID-19,” Meta said.

Twitter planned to invite employees to join panels. But Twitter said that they have canceled their in-person presence, and are exploring the virtual options.

Pinterest announced it has canceled its plans for a smaller meeting room to accommodate partners and sales teams.

CES is an annual technology event which has attracted nearly 180,000 attendees from all around the world.
