China’s commerce ministry calls U.S. Xinjiang ban ‘economic bullying’ -Breaking

BEIJING, (Reuters) – China’s Commerce Ministry said Friday that it was strongly dissatisfied and “firm opposition” to a U.S. ban imposing import restrictions from the Xinjiang area.

State news agency Xinhua said that the United States had “economic bullying” described by the ministry.

On Thursday, the United States President Joe Biden signed legislation banning imports from China’s Xinjiang area. This was in response to concerns over forced labor. China rejects allegations of abuses within Xinjiang.
