President Joe Biden on Monday pledged to support governors struggling with the omicron variant of Covid-19,  but acknowledged the states will need to take the lead in controlling the pandemic.

Biden spoke just prior to a meeting of some of the nation’s governors and stated that “there is not a federal solution.” “This is solved at the level of each state.”

These comments are one of the clearest acknowledgements by the Biden administration to date that the government will require assistance from local and state governments to stop the spread of Covid-19.

Monday’s address by President Obama reiterated several of his last week’s promises, such as the Federal Government purchasing 500 Million Rapid Coronavirus Tests.

“My message is to governors: If there’s anything you want, tell me,” he stated. “We will have your back in every way that we can.

This administration will distribute free vaccines and test sites to Americans. They also plan to send 1,000 military doctors to support hospital staff in the United States.

The virus can mutate and spread, sometimes leading to cases of positive in people who have had a vaccination. This has made it more challenging for the government to keep its promise to reduce the epidemic. Both the vaccine and virus have become a political football. A lot of Americans refuse to get vaccinated, particularly those who support former President Donald Trump.

The comments were made as Covid-19 claims surged in the run-up to Christmas.

A few states have reported more coronavirus infections in recent weeks due to the highly infectious variant of omicron.

Early signs indicate that this variant might cause milder symptoms. However, doctors recommend stringent public safety protocols. Experts warn that rapid spread of the variant could put a strain on U.S. hospitals and increase the risk of more deaths.
